M/s PRASMO AGRI is a proprietary company promoted by the undersigned Mr Prasanna Mohan, a technocrat with an M S in Bio-Technology from the UK. The parent company namely viz; Skywin Group is in the trade of fertilizers, micro nutrients, pesticides and bio agriculture inputs for past 35 years.

Recently M/s Prasmo Agri entered in a new field of producing food products particularly of marine origin. In this line this company got a patent right from the Central salt and marine chemical research institute, an unit of CSIR for artificially growing a special marine Red algae group in the east coast of Tamilnadu for producing food products. This special marine alga namely Kappaphycus grows well in the shallow sea with preference to the Tropical regions in the world.

The purchased algae with primary treatment in the sea shore brought to our factory site for producing food products. Our factory is located in an area of 4 acres at thennur Village of Kumbakonam Taluk in Thanjavur district, Tamilnadu. The factory has been designed with sophisticated machineries for processing this red alga for producing food stuffs particularly the polysaccharides. This Kappaphycus contains Kappa - Carrageenan, a polysaccharide having the gelling, thickening and stabilizing property and other associated special features of using the same in all food derivatives particularly in dairy, meat industries. It is a known fact that this carrageenan is being used in multifarious areas such as manufacturing of creams, flavoured milk, custurd, ice creams, cheese, gellies, confecneries and beverages. Besides this carrageenan could also be used as a base materials for cosmetics, pet foods, pharmaceutical etc.
